# PREPARATION
Watch and listen to your entire exported film from top to tail, without stopping, as your audience members will.
Conduct test exports in the days before your deadline so that you have sufficient time to conduct any final revisions, troubleshoot as necessary, and fully review your final exported film prior to final delivery.
Expecting to work right up to your respective deadline without scheduling a margin of contingency is not advised. Please ensure to plan accordingly.
Review each element (VFX, stereo mix, lower thirds, graphics, etc.) as they are delivered from your respective Post Departments for final layback into your DaVinci Resolve timeline.
If possible, deliver in advance to avoid the rush! You may contact John by email at the coordinates below.
## TECHNICAL CONTACT
I will be available throughout the week to assist, if your team encounters technical gremlins. 👾

# KNOWN GREMLINS 👾
To help protect the integrity of your project and the hard work of your crew, double-check these 'usual suspects' prior to export.
## TITLE SAFE BOUNDARIES
- [ ] Observe Title Safe boundaries for all graphics elements and credits
Title Safe Boundaries help to ensure that you maintain sufficient 'margin' around the perimeter of your image, to account for underscanning. This helps to prevent cropping of text and title elements when your film is viewed on a variety of displays and projectors.
Safe Areas can be displayed as an overlay in a variety of applications:
- 'Grid' in *Avid Media Composer*
- ‘Action / Title Safe Guides’ in *Adobe After Effects*
- 'Safe Areas' in *DaVinci Resolve*
> [!Warning] Title Safe Area of < 80% may result in Cropping on screen... 👾
> Graphic and Narrative Text Elements which lay beyond 80% Title-Safe Boundaries may be clipped / cropped during cinema projection as well as during screening on HDMI televisions and projectors.

## VERIFY STEREO SOUNDFIELD
> [!Warning] Stereo Audio Handling of Mix files in DaVinci Resolve
>Prior to your Stereo Mix Layback in DaVinci Resolve and before exporting, take care to ensure your Stereo Mix is configured as a Stereo Clip and located on a 2.0 Stereo Track within your DaVinci Resolve Timeline.
>- [ ] [[BMDResolve - Stereo Mix Handling#CONFIGURING AUDIO TRACKS FOR STEREO MIX|Configure Audio Tracks for Stereo Mix]]

>- [ ] Check your audio meters to [[BMDResolve - Stereo Mix Handling#MONITORING STEREO SOUNDFIELDS|Verify a Stereo Soundfield]] 🔊🔊
>
> > [!Danger] Dual-Mono Mixdowns 👾👾
> >- Mishandling of audio-clip and -track configurations may inadvertently downmix a Stereo audio file to Dual Mono.
> >- Stereo score and sound design may be ‘folded down’ into a mono soundfield, as a result :(
