# STORAGE DISKS
- All three storage volumes formatted as: HFS+ / MacOS Extended (Journaled).
- After successful offload & verification to two drives, recommend all media cards (Camera & Sound) be formatted only within their respective recording devices (Camera, Sound Recorder) prior to redeployment on subsequent production days.
## RW - ARECA - RAID5-36TB (~700MB/s)
- 1x 36TB Areca 4-Bay RAID5 HDD
- Intended for Primary Offloads
- 25% of the total 48TB Capacity is allocated to RAID5 Parity, which protects the Areca drive from a single-point failure of any one of the four disks within it.
- A spare Seagate IronWolf Pro 12TB SATA HDD is included within a separate case, and at this time is intended only for emergency replacement of a disk within the RAID5.
## RW - LaCie-A - RAID0-8TB (~200MB/s)
## RW - LaCie-B - RAID0-8TB (~200MB/s)
- 2x 8TB LaCie Rugged Shuttle RAID0 HDDs
- These drives are intended as the collective secondary backup.
- Each prepared with an identical folder structure as the Areca.
- *Only one Rugged Drive may be connected to the MacBook Pro at a time (Please see note below)
- I recommend filling only one LaCie Rugged Shuttle at a time. Please reserve a minimum of 10% free space (800GB's) at all times
- When one shuttle is full, please store it away from the Areca RAID5, and proceed to use LaCie Shuttle B.
# Connections & Daisy-Chaining
- Please Ensure the Laptop is connected to its charger via the supplied cable during all offloads.
* The LaCie Rugged Shuttles are bus-powered and each draw a substantial amperage via Thunderbolt, so only one may be connected directly to the MacBook Pro, at a time.
- If both Ruggeds are req'd simultaneously, I recommend Daisy-Chaining one Rugged through the secondary Thunderbolt Connection on the back of the Areca RAID5.
- Testing has led me to suggest the following guideline (or variation thereof) when connecting these drives and accessories to the MacBook Pro. Wherever possible, use the Thunderbolt Cables included with each device:
- Thunderbolt 3 USB-C (Left 1) > Power Adapter
- Thunderbolt 3 USB-C (Left 2) > Areca RAID5 (RW - ARECA - RAID5-36TB) > LaCie Rugged Shuttle A (RW - LaCie-A - RAID0-8TB)
- Thunderbolt 3 USB-C (Right 1) > USB-C Adapter > USB-A Lexar Multi-Card Reader or CFast2.0 Reader(s)
- Thunderbolt 3 USB-C (Right 2) > For Auxiliary connections or devices (Additional USB Hub(s); Card Readers; Or the LaCie Rugged Shuttle B if req'd simultaneously)
# Laptop, Software & Included Accessories
- 1x MacBook Pro 15" (2019 'Vega') & Accessories
- Acrylic Shell & Wool Sleeve
- Power Adapter & Cables
- A small black pouch containing:
- A Lexar USB3-A Multi-Card Reader
- This reader is capable of mounting multiple cards simultaneously, which may enable you to queu-up batches of offloads in ShotPutPro.
- Useful for SD, MicroSD, and Compact Flash Cards-- However, not compatible with CFast2.0.
- A USB3-C Adapter, which provides a couple of USB-A Ports, an Ethernet Port, and an SD Card Reader.
- An auxiliary power-prong for the Laptop Charger.
- The Laptop is set to automatically log-in at startup. If required, the password is: makwa
- ShotPut Pro v6 is pre-installed with an active license.
