# BROADCAST EMBEDDING
- [Avid Closed Captioning Export Settings ?](https://community.avid.com/forums/p/203711/911291.aspx)
Our normal export timeline consists of .aaf cc file on data track, 1 mixed down video file, 1 stereo channel.
Our Export Setting:
- [ ] MXF OP1A - XDCAM 50 Mbits - Direct Out - Audio PCM 48000hz 24 bits per sample direct out mix
We have delivered hundreds of files (1080i/59 & 1080p/23) to networks with your settings going back at least to MC 8.6.5. There have been no rejections for CC problems that I know of. Many networks request the addition of a sidecar scc file, easily made in Avid, so I don't know for sure if they use the embedded or scc.
- [ ] The only other file I know that exports embedded captions is MXF OP1a DNxHD that came out with the AMA file export update. Third party add-on is needed for Quicktime Captions in MOV.
- [ ] We always Link and check the MXF XDCam HD encode with Avid.
I've never had any luck with VLC for embedded Captions or Timecode. Have you?
